PostSubject: In-Depth Interview w/ Brock Lesnar [Pt. 1]   Fri 06 Apr 2007, 10:42 pm

Here is a part from Lesnars interview

MMANews.com: There was a rumor that when you were in the Miletich camp that you rolled a little bit with [Matt] Hughes, and that he got you in a rear naked choke. Now what from I read, or heard, you pretty much just got up and slammed him. Is that true?

Brock Lesnar: [Laughs] Don't believe everything you read or watch on television. [Laughing again] Matt Hughes is a tough guy, you know, and me and Matt did roll around, you know... Matt's the champion of all champions. So I mean, I'm not stirring anything up. Matt's a good guy - I like him and all of those [Miletich] guys are good. I enjoyed their camp, you know, but I'm not going to start anything here. That's nonsense.

I think he has balls for giving it a shot but unless he does a Mark Coleman impersonation he doesn't have a chance. Like I said though, he's got balls..I give him credit.

look at it this way...people that wasnt blessed with half the talent as lesnar came into mma and soaked it up like a sponge. he has size....grappling....im pretty sure he can take a shot. all thats left 2 do is work on submissions and defense. i see him making waves very soon!

I think he is doing it right he is somewhat taking his time and he already is a good wrestler iv seen him move around he is a hell of a lot quicker than just about all of the BIG heavyweights he is good on the ground and if he gets on top! you better just hope he hangís a arm out to dry or something because I donít think to many people will catch him in a triangle I think he will have some serious GNP he would be best served to continue training with Gracie but when it is time for camp maybe Team Punishment would be a good fit!

i haven't watched wrestling since elementary school so, i don't know much about lesnar. just that he is supposed to be a great wrestler. i agree with jdiddy, he should rely on gnp. i think that would be his best bet. as long as he is able to keep someone pinned down while in their guard, he should be ok.

Lesnar wrestled at Webster High School in Webster, South Dakota. Coached by John Schiley, he qualified for the state wrestling tournament several times, but was unable to get first place. Lesnar said those frustrating losses in high school probably fueled his rise to stardom.

Lesnar later attended the University of Minnesota on a full wrestling scholarship, where his roommate was fellow professional wrestler Shelton Benjamin who also served as Lesnar's assistant coach. Lesnar won the 2000 National Collegiate Athletic Association wrestling championship as a heavyweight after placing second in 1999. Prior to joining the Minnesota Golden Gophers, Lesnar also wrestled at Bismarck State College in Bismarck, North Dakota. After the successful end to his college career, Lesnar was offered tryouts in the NFL as well as being trained for the Olympics, but was more convinced by Vince McMahon and the WWF, who believed he could have the same success as Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle did, recalling his many trash-talkings of Iowa and other various schools. Surprising some, Lesnar chose WWF and was sent to its developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. Lesnar finished his amateur career as a four-time all-American, two-time big-ten Champion and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion with a record of 106-5 overall in four years of college.

As long as the guy doesn't have a glass jaw I think he'll do just fine.

He is fucking strong as hell and I hope to see lots of slams from him.

Well I watch wrestling and I can tell you this. His strength and speed unmatchable by any heavy weight in the sport right now.He has been accidently kicked in the face by Shawn Michaels and walked right through ir like it was nothing.I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a glass jaw.As for will he make it I don't know.He has the talent but he gets lazy at times and seemed to me when I met him he isn't very bright.I would like to see him fight someone big and see exactly how he is going to do.
